What is “We Shall Overcome” about?
Dearest Global Family,
I am deeply saddened by the violence and hatred of recent events.
It can be easy to fall into the trap of fear and despair and perhaps even easier to be overcome with anger and driven by the destructive impulses that often accompany it.
We are right to be saddened and we are right to be angry.
In the midst of a global pandemic and now being forced to face the dark side of our human nature, if there is ever a time to garner every last drop of our strength to move forward with grace, it is now. We need solidarity. We are divided and must remember that we need to care for each other because we are, in fact, one race– human. Join me this Sunday at 10 am PDT to bring peace and unity through the power of Sound and Song in our 5th International Chanting Event for Peace.
